Self Drive or Chauffeur?

One of the toughest choices that you will ever have to make is whether to hire out a professional to drive your wedding car for you, or whether you should opt to drive it yourself. We’re going to be taking a look at the advantages of both, to try and identify which is a better choice for your wedding day car.

One of the toughest choices that you will ever have to make is whether to hire out a professional to drive your wedding car for you, or whether you should opt to drive it yourself. We’re going to be taking a look at the advantages of both, to try and identify which is a better choice for your wedding day car.

Self drive

To begin with, we’re going to look at the benefits of choosing not to hire a driver, and thus driving the vehicle yourself for the duration of the time that you have it. For starters, one of the biggest advantages is the money you’re going to be saving while you do not have to pay a driver. Hiring out a wedding car can be a fairly expensive thing to do without the driver as is, so not having one could save you a little bit of money. As well as this, you get to drive the car that you’ve hired. That means if you’ve hired out an Aston Martin or a BMW, you can drive it to and from the wedding venue, and experience what it’s like to be behind the wheel of cars that many of us have grown up idolising. That in itself is an advantage to choosing to drive the vehicle yourself. As well as this, it makes the trip to the wedding much more personal if you’re driving the bride or groom, and can help to ensure that you make memories which are much more intimate.

Using a chauffeur

And now, of course, it is time to look at the benefits of using a professional to drive the vehicle for you. First of all, you’re getting someone who drives these cars for a living, so they’ll naturally be very skilled at what they’re doing. A professional driver will know all the best routes in the area and will ensure that you get to where you’re going in the best way possible. As well as this, a professional driver is someone who can handle the driving, so it is one less thing for someone else to worry about. In a situation where nerves are already highly strung, being able to sit back and relax might be just what some people need. This makes a professional driver invaluable, as they can make sure you get to your destination promptly, and without causing worry or stress.

Overall, there are many advantages to both using a professional driver and driving the vehicle for yourself. The option you choose will always be down to personal preference, and there is no right or wrong answer when it comes to deciding how best to get yourself to the church or wedding location. If you want someone to handle it all for you, then a professional is best, but if you’re looking for a more intimate day which is kept within a group of family and friends, then someone you trust to drive you there may well be the best option.
